Grace delle nevi
Vacanze di Natale a Courmayeur.
"Curma", come dicono i milanesi.
Sistemazione nel residence di pre' St. Didier dove scendevano abitualmente i Savoia quando regnavano sovrani.
Partenza la mattina del 25 Dicembre. Grace si e' premurata di ordinare telefonicamente presso la piu' cara gastronomia della zona ovest di Milano un luculliano "pranzo di Natale" per tutta la famiglia. Un enorme scatolone che da solo riempie 3/4 del bagagliaio, con tutte le portate accuratamente imballate, che vado a ritirare e pagare prima della partenza, "perche' non vorrai mica che mi metta a cucinare quando arriviamo in montagna, e il pranzo di Natale al ristorante fa tristezza". Come darle torto.
Il menu:
Cappesante allo champagne e scamponi reali gratinati alle erbe.
Zuppa ai tre cereali bio con zafferano, porri e crostacei
Brodo di cappone con cappelletti mantovani di brasato
Filetti di orata alla ligure
Filetti di branzino in salsa di mandarino
Funghi porcini trifolati
Purea di patate e asparagi.
Nei giorni precedenti ho prenotato e gia' pagato on line una settimana di scuola di sci per entrambi i bambini.
Grace decide di non negarsi l'opportunita' di sciare, ma a giorni alterni, naturalmente con maestro privato. Questa diabolica soluzione le permette di sfoggiare le sue mise da sci sulle piste, senza negarsi intere giornate di shopping mentre io e i bambini sciamo.
Nella perfida lotteria dei maestri di sci, ai bambini non e' toccata purtroppo la deliziosa istruttrice uguale a Victoria "Posh" Beckham che ho visto sfrecciare sul Pra' Neyron, ne' quella specie di Elisabetta Canalis delle Alpi incontrata allo skilift, ma "La Iris", che con tutto il rispetto ricorda mia Zia Lella.
D'altra parte, a Grace non e' capitato il giovane maestro uguale a William d' Inghilterra gia' adocchiato l'anno scorso, ma Piero, sessantenne veterano degli istruttori, cicciotto, paterno e con una dentatura che da decenni frequenta abitualmente Gauloises senza filtro.
Le giornate sciistiche di Grace hanno come "fil rouge" la perenne messa in discussione dei fondamenti di ogni singola usanza connessa allo sport in questione.
La funivia: "Dovrebbero fare entrare meno gente. Si sta troppo stretti".
Gli scarponi: "Perche' li fanno cosi' duri? Fanno male!"
Le piste: "A Sauze D'Oulx le piste sono piu' belle!".
Le seggiovie: "Si vede che sono vecchie!"
L'abbigliamento: "Dovrei comprare anche per me la maglia "tecnica" come quelle che ho comprato per i bambini".
La neve artificiale: "Perche' non la sparano meglio, qui e' tutto ghiacciato!".
A proposito di neve: durante una nevicata, guardando i fiocchi che scendevano in controluce sull' insegna arancione di un bar, Alessandro ha detto: "Guarda Babbo, la neve artificiale!".
"No, amore, questa e' neve naturale...".
"Allora perche' e' arancione?".
Quando Grace non viene con noi sulle piste, le sue giornate sono permeate da una costante attivita' di prenotazioni e cancellazioni connesse alla "beauty" personale. Prenota le terme, sposta il massaggio, cancella la sauna e riprenota la ceretta cancellata precedentemente.
Altro che personal trainer, per lei ci vorrebbe il "Personal booker and eraser".
In pochi giorni Grace diventa la regina di Via Roma, il "corso" delle boutique piu' esclusive di Curma, e la migliore cliente di quelle rosticcerie che ostentando nomi come "Les Gourmandises", o "L'antico pastificio della Gabriella" dichiarano gia' in partenza prezzi esorbitanti.
Un giorno, di ritorno dalla spesa, mi dice "Guarda che la tua carta di credito non funziona. Non ho potuto pagare. Pensa che gentile la Gabriella, mi ha detto che puoi passare tu quando vuoi". Naturalmente la carta ha raggiunto il limite mensile di spesa, quindi vado a saldare il conto cash dalla gentilissima Gabriella ( "Ah, lei e' il marito della signora Grace..." ).
Sotto Capodanno, mentre tutte le "sciure" affollano le gastronomie del corso in vista dei cenoni, a Grace riesce una doppietta da vera professionista: entra dalla Gabriella, prende il numero 38 mentre stanno servendo l' 84, calcola il tempo approssimativo che ci vuole per servire 54 clienti, riesce ad andare dal parrucchiere e torna in rosticceria un'ora e mezza dopo, esattamente mentre stanno chiamando il numero prima del suo. Chapeau.
Le attivita' di shopping riguardano essenzialmente micro-acquisti mirati: tazzine artigianali, presine da cucina ricamate a mano, calze per i bambini nel piu' esclusivo negozio di calze per bambini, quando un giorno arriva l'annuncio:
"Ho visto una borsa...."
"Beh, amore, ti avevo promesso un regalo per il nostro anniversario...",
"...e' proprio bella. Vorrei fartela vedere....",
"Ok, andiamo. Dove l'hai vista?"
"Da.....( il negozio piu' caro di tutta la Val D' Aosta, n.d.r. )...solo che pensavo che costasse(......) invece costa molto di piu'. Pero' e' bellissima. Pensa, e' in edizione limitata",
"Limitata?!? Cioe'?",
"Va be', dai, andiamo, voglio fartela vedere",
"Beh, se e' cosi' bella e limitata, speriamo che ci sia ancora...." ,
"L'ho fatta mettere da parte...".
Se incontrate Grace, sappiate che la sua borsa e' la n. 54 di una limitatissima serie firmata, della quale ogni modello e' personalizzato e diverso dagli altri, in vendita solo in selezionatissimi negozi di Milano, New York, Cortina, Gstaad, Parigi, Aspen....e Courmayeur.
